Leo's Safe Haven - Responsive WordPress website

Leo’s Safe Haven is a website created in loving memory of Leo, a 16-year-old who died by suicide in 2023. In the face of unimaginable loss, Leo’s parents have chosen to honour his life by working towards meaningful change, so that other families might be spared the same enduring heartbreak.

Leo’s mum approached hrscreative to design a site that would gently raise awareness around youth suicide and the importance of early support. Through carefully chosen, emotive images and thoughtful storytelling, the website shares Leo’s experiences, including his diagnosis of Autism at a young age, helping visitors to better understand the challenges he faced.

The family have established Leo’s Safe Haven in collaboration with Autistica, supporting their vital research and campaigning work. All funds raised through the initiative will go directly towards advancing understanding and improving support for autistic individuals.

Together, they hope to encourage the creation of “safe havens” across society—places where young people feel seen, supported, and understood, whether in schools, at home, within local communities, or in mental health settings.

An interview with Leo’s parents, Jo and Chris, aired on Channel 4, offers further insight into their journey and their hopes for change. It is a deeply moving piece and well worth watching, though viewers may wish to be mindful that some parts are emotionally challenging and could be triggering.

“From the first meeting Clare was extremely patient and helpful and sensitive to creating a website that captures its audience. Her communication and customer service is second to none, providing information and help and explaining about the technical side and what is required to create an eye-catching website. I am so happy with the result, it ticks all the boxes, and she has even offered me training so that I can continue to manage the site myself.

I was so impressed that she created my vision from one conversation and I have not had to change a thing, she really cares and I would not hesitate in recommending Clare.

Thank you hrscreative I am incredibly happy.”
